A delegation from SAB participated in the
mutual scientific assembly with the Moroccan
Court of Audit regarding the topic of sustainable
development during the period from 10-14
Feb. 2020. This participation comes as an
implementation of the cooperation agreement
signed between the two SAIs in order to develop
and improve their cooperation in the fields of
auditing and developing the professional skills
and capacities of their staff.
SAB was represented by Principal Auditor of
Companies Audit Department, Mr. Abdulkareem
Al-Musaireie, and Associate Auditor of
Performance Audit Department Mr. Shamlan Ali.
During the assembly, the delegation showcased
major challenges related to sustainable
development and the challenges that face SAIs
in the area of capacity development. In addition,
the delegation discussed the method
of auditing SDGs according to INTOSAI
SAB Participates in the Scientific Assembly on
“Sustainable Development” in Cooperation with
the Moroccan Court of Audit
approach for reviewing the implementation
of SDGs, which are the following:
1. Evaluate national governments’
preparedness for implementing SDGs, and
observe and report on their progress. Then,
audit their activities and verify the reliability
of the data presented.
2. Undertake performance audits on the
level of the organization, efficiency,
and effectiveness of major government
programs that contribute to certain aspects
of SDGs.
3. Evaluate and support the implementation
of SDG 16, which relates to building
transparent, effective, and accountable
institutions.
4. SAIs should be role models and
set examples in transparency and
accountability concerning their operations,
