SAB participates at
the XXIII INCOSAI in
Moscow
An official delegation from the State Audit Bureau
headed by SAB’s Vice President, Mr. Adel Al-
Sarawi, participated in the XXIII INCOSAI that
was held during the period from 23rd to 28th of
September 2019 in Moscow - Russia, to activate
the ARABOSAI role. The conference aims to
get acquainted with and participate in the latest
guides and standards issued in the international
community that serve audit and control profession
and participate in international discussions to
find the best solutions to the challenges facing
SAIs.
Besides Al-Sarawi, SAB’s delegation comprised
the Director General of the General Directorate
of SAB President Office, Ms. Fawzia Al-
Enezi, the Chief Auditor of Companies Audit
Department, Mr. Khaled Al-Shehab, the Chief
auditor of Performance Audit Department,
Ms. Hessa Al-Mashaan, the Principal Auditor
in the Independent Bodies of Service and
Economic Affairs Audit Department, Ms. Fatima
Al-Failakawi, International Relations Senior
Specialist, Ms. Fatima Al-Qattan, International
Relations Coordinator, Ms. Estabraq Al-Shalahi,
and International Relations Coordinator, Ms. Hind
Al-Duwairi, from the Training and International
Relations Department.
This conference is considered one of the
most important international forums to discuss
dilemmas related to the basic challenges of
the global economy, issues of international
development, and ways to ensure sustainable
development through administrative solutions,
technology, and issues related to information
technology to develop public administration,
the role of SAIs in achieving national priorities
and goals and other significant issues. More
than 600 heads of SAIs, audit offices, experts,
and other stakeholders, representing 168 SAI
members of the organization, and other regional
organizations, participated in this global event.
SAB Vice President, Mr. Adel Al-Sarawi, chaired
the first plenary session of the conference on
“Information Technology for the Development
of Public Administration” based on the invitation
extended by the President of SAI China. The
session focused on the role of SAIs and the
need to use data analysis tools for big data in
order to break resource constraints, improve
audit efficiency, expand audit coverage, and
improve the ability of SAIs to issue early warnings
about economic and social risks. In addition
to expanding the scope of SAIs, adding more
value to government auditing, and promoting
