sustainable development in the country. The
most important challenges facing the world
regarding the application of big data auditing in
SAIs were also presented.
Participants in the session were the chair of
the theme, the National Audit Office of China,
the deputy chair of the theme, the Office of the
Auditor General of Canada, the Auditor Superior
of the Superior Audit of the Federation of Mexico,
the Auditor General of the National Audit Office
of Estonia, the Comptroller General of the
United States and Head of the US Government
Accountability Office, the President of the State
Audit Institution of the United Arab Emirates,
member of the Audit Board of the Republic of
Indonesia and the representative of the World
Bank.
On the sidelines of the conference, ARABOSAI
held a coordination meeting with the AFROSAI-E,
emphasizing the importance of bilateral
cooperation between both organizations per the
Memorandum of Understanding within a specific
time frame.
SAB Vice President, Mr. Adel Al-Sarawi,
focused, during the meeting, on the fact that this
cooperation is an added value for ARABOSAI
and that this evaluation is ideal and fruitful
since ARABOSAI is facing some challenges
that require holding more training programs in
the fields of internal audit, environmental audit,
Key Performance Indicators and the evaluation
of audit methods and mechanisms. Mr. Al-
Sarawi referred to the importance of training
and suggested to develop an action plan that
includes the main pivot to gain more experience.
He also expressed his optimism about this
cooperation, which will provide added value to
both organizations.
From the African side, Mrs. Meisie Nkau, the
Chief Executive Officer of the General Secretariat
of AFROSAI-E, welcomed this initiative and
expressed her delight with this cooperation and
thankfulness for the support of this cooperation.
On the other hand, SAB delegation held a bilateral
meeting with the Auditor General of the Office
of the Auditor-General of Pakistan on Monday,
23rd of September 2019. The meeting aimed
to enhance the good relationship between the
two countries and to look forward to concluding
a cooperation agreement between the Kuwaiti
and the Pakistani SAIs. In order to benefit from
the exchange of distinguished expertise and
experiences at the professional and technical
level for both SAIs, since SAIs are focusing
on information technology, which is one of the
biggest challenges that all SAIs are facing.
SAB delegation also met with the President of the
State Audit Office in the Republic of Hungary,
Mr. László Domokos, to discuss aspects of
cooperation and exchange of experiences
between the two SAIs, in the field of peer review
to establish the main topics and develop a
work plan in this regard. Provided that the plan
shall include the implementation of workshops,
seminars, training courses, and meetings to
exchange experiences on the most important
common challenges between the two SAIs. The
said plan will be on an annual basis through
signing a cooperation agreement between
the State Audit Bureau of Kuwait and the State
Audit Office of Hungary in January 2020 in the
Republic of Hungary.
SAB delegation also held a meeting with
representatives of the Institute of Internal
Auditors (IIA) to enhance mutual cooperation
and exchange of experiences between the two
parties and benefit from the Institute’s expertise to
further strengthen the field of internal auditing in
the State Audit Bureau of Kuwait. SAB concluded
a contract with the Institute of Internal Auditors
(IIA) to evaluate SAB internal audit systems, and
its expected implementation is March 2020.
