Topics during the Concerned Time:
A total number of (857) topics have been
researched and reviewed from 12/03/2020 to
29/06/2020. Immediate savings to the public
treasury of approximately K.D (44) million
were achieved. The concluded contracts
encompassed topics that are directly relevant
to facing Coronavirus implications. They also
addressed other contingency issues that are
correlated with the vital operations that must
be maintained to guarantee the country’s
businesses such as contracts on services,
operations, maintenance, and sanitation of the
State’s facilities and buildings. Additionally, the
topics being studied and reviewed also included
the development projects that remain under
construction. The following tables demonstrate
a detailed description of the above-mentioned:

The topics that are immediately correlated with
facing the Coronavirus implications represented
46% of the total number of items presented
for approval during this given time, with an
approximate total value of K.D (354) million
for (255) topics. The Ministry of Health scored
the lion’s share with 64% of the total number
of presented topics of K.D 197 million worth
value for (163) items. Said topics included the
importing and purchasing of pharmaceuticals
and medical supplies to protect the medical
staff in front lines. It also included the importation
of respiratory devices along with enhancing
the strategic reserve of medicine and other
consumables for chronic illnesses, such as heart
diseases, cancer, diabetes, blood pressure, etc.
Among the topics on facing the Coronavirus
implications were (44) items by the General
Secretary of the Council of Ministers of an
approximate value worth K.D (91) million. The
topics relate to fighting the virus and meeting
the contingency needs to contain the pandemic
by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior,
Ministry of Public Works, and the Kuwait Fire
Service Directorate. These topics are subject to
contracting under the Ministries’ budget, imprest
accounts, and other considerations related to the
temporarily allocated fund of financial donations
to support the government efforts in facing the
