SAB Launches a Project on ‘Supporting Internal
Audit Systems and Enhancing the Capacities of
the Internal Audit Units within the Entities Subject
to its Control’
SAB launched a project on support-
ing internal audit systems and enhanc-
ing the capacities of internal audit units
within the entities subject to its con-
trol. It is in cooperation with the Gen-
eral Secretariat of the Supreme Council
for Planning and Development and the
concerned international agency via the
United Nations Development Plan with
the aim to improve the skills of SAB au-
ditors in this respect.
The Director of the Defense, Security,
and Public Affairs Audit Department -
Mr. Essam Al-Roumi, stated that this
project came in align-
ment with SAB vision
(Partners and Audi-
tors). The Internal
Audit Systems are
significant in enabling
government entities
to protect their assets
and ensuring proper
functioning along with boosting its pro-
ductive efficiency. This may be achieved
through the optimization of the available
resources and energy when channeling
the internal discipline, accountability,
and administrative control within these
systems.
He added that the attention given to
this subject is rooted to the mutual in-
terest between the Budget Committee
and the Final Account Committee af-
filiated with the National Assembly and
SAB. The committee requested that
SAB evaluate Internal Audit Systems
within the government
entities to verify their
effectiveness and the
consistency of ap-
plication. SAB was
asked to provide a list
of the entities –sub-
ject to its control- of
which organizational
