ISSUE 20 61 The committee formed to develop and draft meeting recommendations, represented by SAB’s delegation; Mrs. Eman Al-Saif, Controller of the Internal Audit Department, recommended the following: • Promote continuous training to develop internal auditors› skills and knowledge with the latest practices and techniques in the auditing field. • Encourage auditors to collaborate and communicate continuously with other departments to promote mutual understanding and achieve common goals. • Organize regular meetings to discuss challenges, assess potential risks, and develop effective audit strategies. • Apply principles of governance in accordance with the new standards. • Ensure using artificial intelligence according to the latest developments to facilitate the audit process and ensure the speed, quality, and expansion of the audit scope. SAB participated as an observer in «The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)» joined by a Kuwaiti delegation from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD). The Forum was organized by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations, in New York – United States, from 17-19 July 2023. SAB was represented during the HLPF by members of the Sustainable Development Follow-up Team: Mr. Ali Al-Hazeem - Principal Auditor in the Oil Entities Marketing and Investment Audit Department, and Mr. Talal Al-Wuhaib -Senior Auditor in the Performance Audit Department. SAB’s participation in the Forum was driven by the aim of exchanging experiences and knowledge and promoting SAB›s audit work in following-up on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the relevant authorities. This was demonstrated through a presentation of the Key Financial Indicators, Audit Phenomena, and Developments Report for 2021/2022, along with environmental audit and sustainable development reports issued by the PerformanceAudit Department, and the activities carried out by the SDG Follow-up Team locally and internationally. The SCPD delegation presented the second voluntary review on the progress of SDGs. In their presentation, the delegation pointed to the significant contributions of SAB regarding sustainable development at the environmental, social, and economic levels.
