ISSUE 20 SAB Participates in the 15th Internal Auditors’ Annual Meeting in Jordan A SAB delegation participated in the 15th annual meeting of internal auditors from the 3rd to the 5th of June 2024 in Jordan with 57 participants from most Arab countries. Ms. Eman Al-Saif, Controller of the Internal Audit Department; Mr. Ahmad Al-Ghudian, Associate Auditor in the Public and Service Affairs PreAudit Division; and Ms. Dalal Al-Ansari, Assistant Auditor in the Economic and Organizational Affairs Audit Department, represented SAB’s delegation during this meeting. The meeting addressed several topics, and one of the most prominent topics discussed was the role of the Audit Committee in guiding the internal audit and in providing the necessary support to the audit department. It also addressed governance legislation and its impact on the development of audit committees to improve the efficiency of internal audits in achieving their objectives. In addition, the meeting addressed the role of internal audit directors in raising awareness of audit committees and governing boards on topics of governance, control, and risk along with their impact in developing the efficiency of the internal audit. During the meeting, the participants discussed governing the internal audit function per the new standards and its impact on leading internal audits toward adding value. They also addressed the role of internal audit in auditing the institutional environment, culture, and social responsibility. In addition, they talked about developing internal audit activity in light of digital transformation and artificial intelligence and the application of artificial intelligence in internal auditing. The participants also discussed the most prominent amendments made to the international standards according to the new version of 2024. The impact of the governance legislation issued by Central Banks in enhancing the role of audit committees was then demonstrated. Moreover, the challenges facing internal audit departments in light of Digital Finance were stated along with proper methods to address them. The meeting discussed the working mechanism of auditing committees to develop internal auditing work using modern technologies in light of technological development and digital transformation. It also approached the internal audit departments› challenges and how they keep pace with the accelerated technological development, in addition to internal audit and emerging technologies. and Organizations Audit Institutions
