Strategy
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
An indicator
that is adopted based on the data of the
organizational unit’s core business to determine
the work progress in achieving the set goal, the
remaining work, and whether there is a positive
or negative deviation in achieving this goal.
KPIs differ from the operational measurement
indicators that also derive their data from the
work of the organizational unit. Unlike KPIs, the
operational measurement indicators are aimed
to measure the current work capacity against
the operational capacity of the organizational
unit.
Capacity building (capacity development):
The process by which people and organizations
acquire, improve and retain the skills,
knowledge, systems, tools, equipment, and
other resources needed to perform their jobs
efficiently. Capacity building allows individuals
and organizations to perform their missions
with greater capacity (i.e., broader scope,
greater audience, greater impact, etc.). The
terms «capacity building» and «capacity
development» are often used interchangeably.
Both terms refer to the process of rising from
one level to another to achieve a specific goal.
The process of capacity development is divided
into the following:
o Human capacity building:
this process
involves a continuous path of progress and
learning for all employees, of all levels and
positions, in order to reach the level where all
employees are capable of performing their work
efficiently and effectively.
o Institutional capacity building:
It involves
providing the appropriate infrastructure in
terms of spatial space, technologies, methods,
budget, and any tools necessary to implement
the goals of the plan.
o Organizational capacity building:
It
involves enhancing the organization’s systems
and structures to achieve the set goals in a
more effective and efficient manner, taking into
consideration the institutional framework that
defines the work of the SAI, including any laws,
decisions, work systems, regulations, rules,
and guidelines.
Corporate values:
It is a set of principles and
attributes that defines the moral order for the
organization’s behavior and guides its action
towards achieving the aspired goals.
Yearly action plan:
A plan to implement the
goals of the current strategic plan.
Strategic directions & goals:
this term refers
to the goals at their various levels. These
directions and goals are measurable and
observable outcomes that can be attained by
carrying out certain tasks in a specific period of
time during the execution of the strategic plan
to realize SAB’s vision, mission, and values.
The following graph represents, in descending
order, the subcomponents adopted in the
strategic plan of SAB.
